Madre Verde Foundation

We are a non-profit organization dedicated to conservation, environmental education and sustainable development, based in Palmares, Alajuela, Costa Rica. We protect the Madre Verde Nature Reserve, a 31-hectare green lung where we promote the well-being of the community and the planet.

31 protected hectares

We protect a 31-hectare forest that is part of the Montes del Aguacate Biological Corridor, safeguarding natural resources and providing habitat for a great diversity of plants and wildlife.

Protecting three water springs

We protect water resources by preserving the forest cover and following sustainable practices.

Ecological Blue Flag

We hold the Ecological Blue Flag (Bandera Azul Ecológica) certification with the highest rating, awarded for our sustainable practices.
